Great Tai Festival

These photographs are taken at a great traditional festival day in Meng Mao. All over China government departments take a holiday for May day between 1st May and 7th May and held May day festivals all over the country.

So, Tai in Tung Mao also famous in China is the traditional culture of the competition of beautiful cows carts with beautiful queens to compete with each other for the most beautiful queen with the most beautiful cows cart of the whole region.

They have been preparing their beautiful carts since the end of April and on 3rd May 2006 morning at 09:00am they started round the city. After they go round the city, then they go to the festival field at Nam Mao river bank where they had built festival building and beautified with many beautiful Tai culture handicrafts. Many many Tai suits were full with the city today and the sound of Tai long drums were loud along the road and the festival field.

This year, Beijing culture department and famous singers come to enjoy the festival as the special festival year.
